Even as a child growing up in Cincinnati, Sylvia Brownlee always had dreams of influencing the beauty industry. 

So it was no surprise when she went to cosmetology school right after highschool, and quickly started her career at a high-profile salon. Her natural ability to connect with clients made her a rising talent, and over the next 10 years she would transition into salon management before ultimately becoming the Director of Education at a renowned skin care institution. It was there that she discovered her passion for enhancing the lives of those who suffer from acne & hyperpigmentation. 

“I, myself, have dealt with both and know how easily it can affect one’s self-esteem and confidence,” Brownlee recalls. “When your skin is clear and glowing, you feel amazing!” 

Her career experiences began to sharpen her business sense on top of her passion for skincare. “I got to really understand the business side of beauty–how to manage clients and create new streams of income by being of better service to them. It became clear to me that God was revealing to me my life’s work and showing me the blueprint for getting it done,” she explains.

In 2015, she took a leap of faith, founding Skin By Brownlee & Co., with the purpose of teaching others how to love and care for their skin. Her skincare brand offers luxe corrective skincare treatments at her Cincinnati skin bar, and a line of skincare products to support every step in the skincare regimen.
