Kyla Woods
Kyla Woods is an experienced Broadcast Journalist and Communications Professional currently serving as Public Information Officer for Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey. She also works in many environments as an engaging Keynote Speaker and Emcee.
Prior to joining Sheriff McGuffey's Command Staff, Kyla managed internal and external Communications and PR for MORTAR Cincinnati. She also served as the Communications Liaison for alumni of the program and had a heavy focus on Community Engagement.
Kyla is the Founder of Crowd or Camera Communications and works with individuals and groups on perfecting their public speaking and interviewing skills. She offers Public and Media Relations Strategies that will put her clients in the best position for favorable media and digital coverage. With her extensive background in broadcasting, Kyla helps businesses and brands understand what makes them stand out in a room full of people or in front of a camera.
Kyla worked previously as the Traffic Reporter and Fill-in Anchor for WLWT News 5. She started as a Traffic Reporter for WXIN FOX 59 in Indianapolis, where she produced and delivered live Traffic Reports. Kyla transitioned to Feature Reporter and hosted her own segment called "Mondays with Kyla". She then continued to improve her on-camera talents by entering the acting field and was featured in her first National TV commercial for Steak N Shake. Since then, Kyla has appeared in commercials for Martin's Supermarket, Hoosier Park, Knology Cable systems, and Cincinnati Bell.
Kyla has also had the opportunity to interview several key national figures, including Jean Case of the Case Foundation; Necole Kane, Founder of XO Necole; Datwon Thomas, EIC of Vibe Magazine; Alicia Robb, Founder and CEO of Next Wave Impact; and Yvette Simpson, CEO of Democracy for America, just to name a few.
