Dr. Burns C. Blaxall is the Executive Director of the Precision Health at The Christ Hospital. As a leading translational researcher, Dr. Blaxall works collaboratively with doctors and clinical care teams to expand the delivery of targeted therapeutics.

Dr. Blaxall received bachelor’s degrees in Human Biology/Zoology and Spanish from Brigham Young University. He obtained his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, followed by postdoctoral fellowship training at Duke University Medical Center. Most recently, he completed the Core Leadership and Advanced Leadership Development Programs in conjunction with the Harvard Business School. He has received numerous academic honors and awards in addition to election as a Fellow of five leading organizations.

As an internationally recognized leader in research, Dr. Blaxall has served in a variety of leadership positions focused on research and innovation. He joins us from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where he was the Founding Director of the Center for Transitional Fibrosis Research. He also served as Co-Director of the Heart Institute Clinical Research Core & Biorepository and as a Professor of Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Blaxall has published more than 85 peer-reviewed articles and has presented more than 150 invited lectures on topics ranging from heart disease and pharmacogenomics to multi-organ fibrosis.
