WE CREATE Our List
We do our research and create our List. We’re not the first ones to think of curating businesses and properties for our friends and family. So we rely on major, trusted publications to provide us with top level recommendations. Over the past years, we’ve landed on a few key publications that we know to do a decent job of initial orientation (though some, we’ve learned, are due for an updated review of the property that they glowed so lovingly about back in 2012…). We create our List of restaurants, experiences, and hotels that we’ll check out. Then…
2. We pay to play
We patronize the businesses and gauge the experience. We always pay our own way. We don’t ask for or accept a free lunch in exchange for listing a business. If we aren’t willing to patronize and pay full price for a business’s offerings, we won’t recommend that you do so. We don’t get paid, don’t ask for or receive any perks, and we don’t let anybody know that we’re there to vet the business for Wise Rewards™. We don’t tell businesses that we’re considering them for our program. We do our due diligence on the sly. As they say (to paraphrase inaccurately), you can tell the most about a person when they think nobody’s watching.
3. We assign a score + UPDATE OUR LIST.
Using our proprietary, objective-as-possible scoring method, we decide whether the business is a candidate for our members.
From time to time, we’ll update our List; new businesses will be added, some businesses may be removed, but we will always keep it fresh, rely on our members for input, and will do our best to ensure that only the best businesses are being recommended to our members. We stay tuned for any feedback and do quality checks from time to time. We are always open to (and actively solicit) feedback about experiences at our merchant partners to ensure every experience is worthwhile and improving the quality of life for our members.
