7 Steps to More Effectively Working from Home
Unless you’ve been a remote worker for years, working from home can be an adjustment. So many high-achieving, high-performing people thrive in specific work environments, however, during this time of uncertainty our health, and the health of others, becomes paramount.
Dr. Gina Maccarone has provided 7 tips for staying Healthy At Home!
MINDSET Put on a bra! Get dressed (can be comfy clothes) but change OUT of PJs!
EXERCISE/MOVE! Make time to exercise... and really do it! I enjoy this in the middle of the day, something I look forward to and helps break up the monotony. DANCEFIX Cincinnati and other gyms like Orangetheory are offering workouts online. Throughout the rest of the day, find a reason to move! I am trying to build in trips up and down the stairs, walk the dogs, etc. I have to FORCE myself to do this, building it into my schedule.
PLAN Take one day a week to do nothing but organize your thoughts and make a plan for the coming days. Choose a different goal or purpose for each day and schedule activities- this helps keep days from running together.
MOTIVATION When you are having a hard time getting through something you don’t want to do, find ways to reward yourself, by taking a break, calling a friend to FT, etc.
FOOD/MEALS I found that I ate A LOT when I started working from home. Stick with set meal times and try to avoid snacking. If necessary, schedule snack times, build in as much fruit/veggies as possible. You now have time to make meals at home for dinner! At your lunch break, plan dinner, defrost frozen meat, etc. Dinner to Doorbells is a great meal delivery option!
WATER I drink less water at home, so I set reminders on my Alexa, or computer to finish my water and refill.
CHORES I have a hard time focusing when there are dishes in dishwasher or dust on the table, so in the morning when I get up, I do the 3-4 things that I know will bug me all day. if your whole family is at home, assign specific chores on certain days for each member.
