Amanda Valentine has faced a lifetime of obesity and years of yo-yo dieting. But after nearly a decade of getting real results by losing over 100 pounds and finally keeping it off, Amanda is on a mission. She wants to inspire healthier lifestyles through sharing powerful experiences, daily struggles, as well as helpful tips and tricks with nutrition, exercise, and motivation that will provide a new path toward a healthier happier life.
Amanda specializes in planning to be healthy: planning to move, planning meals, planning for real life interruptions and challenges.
“I’ve been obese as long as I can remember, and I’ve done a LOT of diets. I spent over a decade losing weight and gaining it all back. In 2011, I hit my lowest point. I was binge eating to the point of pain every night and hiding the trash from my husband so he wouldn’t know my shame. Every day was a “diet starts tomorrow” mentality. But every tomorrow would be more of the same … hitting up multiple drive thru-s at once and hating myself.
In January 2012, I made a New Year’s resolution to stop dieting and to start making the best decision in every moment. I resolved to just do the best I could, to stop forcing myself to eat vegetables I hated, and to stop paying for gym memberships I’d never use. Slow steps, small goals, and a lot of determination helped me to lose over 100 pounds and keep it off.
I won’t lie. It wasn’t easy. There’s a lot more to this process than just “eat less and move more.” And there’s no “right” way to do it. It’s all about learning what works best for you.”
